About The Position

Nurse Manager - 3B Medical Unit Newark, DE ChristianaCare Health System is seeking a Nurse Manager for our 3B Medical Unit. The Nurse Manager will lead all aspects of the 3B Medical Unit. In this role, the Nurse Manager will: Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to adult and geriatric patients, including the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs. Assure compliance with regulatory and professional standards. Identify priorities of management responsibilities and demonstrate the ability to delegate. Develop and maintain a method to ensure patient satisfaction on the assigned unit. Perform routine patient rounds to establish visibility and teamwork, and monitor the level of care/practice. Remain cognizant of risk management issues and take appropriate measures to correct. Support and communicate the Department of Nursing and unit-based PI initiatives. Lead nursing practice and care delivery in the designated unit. Promote the autonomy of the nursing staff, encouraging independent decision-making and problem-solving. Support and maintain shared decision-making on the unit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and Master of Science in Nursing required.
  • Current RN DE licensure or Compact Licensure required.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • 5 years of appropriate clinical experience in a hospital acute care setting required.
  • 5 years of appropriate leadership experience required
  • Professional certification in a related nursing specialty is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Telemetry is strongly preferred
  • Nurse Executive certification preferred
