The Perioperative and Outpatient Specialty Nurse Manager is the designated first-line supervisory authority and is responsible and accountable for the 24/7 management of a defined area of organized nursing services or resident care unit and provides coverage for other Nurse Managers as needed. The Nurse Manager is responsible and accountable for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and evaluation of individual staff performance. The Nurse Manager is responsible for planning, managing, supervising, providing, and evaluating nursing care for patients in the Outpatient Surgical Specialty Clinics (General Surgery, GI/Endoscopy, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Wound Care, Urology) and Integrated Therapies Clinics (Pain, PM&R, Whole Health). The Nurse Manager has the 24-hour responsibilities for clinical and administrative aspects of patient care within those areas. The Nurse Manager is also expected to develop professional, dynamic, and collaborative relationships with other nursing departments under the Service Line. The Nurse Manager will also be responsible for growing departments and programs under their direct supervision including support for a future Ambulatory Surgery Center. The employee will work in the area(s) assigned by their supervisor. Potential areas include but are not limited to sterile processing service/reusable medical equipment, inpatient care areas, primary/specialty outpatient clinics, mental health, medical service, telehealth services, or surgical services. The area assigned may be modified as needed to meet organizational needs.
