About The Position

The Perioperative Manager is a hands-on, detail-oriented nursing leader responsible for overseeing all perioperative operations, including pre-op, OR, PACU. This role ensures safe, high-quality, patient-centered care, while managing staff, monitoring workflow efficiency, and driving performance improvement initiatives. The Perioperative Manager serves as a key liaison with physicians, nursing leadership, and hospital executives, providing guidance on clinical issues, policy interpretation, and operational decisions. This solution-focused, adaptable leader mentors staff, implements effective workflows, manages change, and contributes to budget planning, supporting the growth and optimization of a high-performing perioperative team.

Requirements

  • Must have a current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  • A minimum of two years supervisory/management experience necessary.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), required for all hires after 1/11/2021.
  • Current ACLS (AHA) Certification upon hire and maintain current
  • At least two (2) years of experience in Surgical Nursing.
  • Current PALS (AHA) certification for those facilities caring for pediatric population.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all perioperative operations, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care and efficient surgical workflow.
  • Manage and support perioperative staff, fostering engagement, accountability, and professional growth across all departments.
  • Serve as a liaison with physicians, nursing leadership, and hospital executives, providing guidance on clinical issues, policy interpretation, and operational decisions.
  • Analyze operational and clinical trends, implement effective workflows, and proactively resolve issues to improve efficiency, patient safety, and surgical outcomes.
  • Maintain and drive performance improvement initiatives, monitoring compliance and outcomes to meet departmental and hospital standards.
  • Contribute to budget planning and resource management to optimize perioperative operations.
  • Conduct daily rounding and maintain a visible presence across perioperative areas to support staff, ensure workflow efficiency, and foster a collaborative environment.

  • A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $88,483.20 to $128,148.80 on an annualized basis.
  • The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
