The nurse manager is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors; ensuring that standards of practice and quality of care are maintained; sustaining customer-focused care, managing human and financial resources; and aligning the department's goals with the hospital's strategic priorities. Promotes individual, peer and departmental accountability to the mission, vision, values and strategic priorities of the organization. Assists with the development and modification of goals and objectives for the department, and assures that the goals are achieved. Promotes evidenced-based care for all patients served by the department. Assures compliance with national standards, professional and regulatory guidelines that govern patient care (e.g., Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services). Provides oversight for department quality improvement activities and facilities change. Provide daily operational oversight ensuring staffing and patient flow while partnering with multidisciplinary teams. Develop and implement unit goals, policies, and standards. Ensure regulatory compliances. Ability to foster employee engagement through the support of shared governance, staff participation, and recognition efforts.Lead quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with OBGYN leaders and the perinatal safety nurse. Teaching experience and/or leadership experience preferred Strong ability to partner with system members to leverage additional skills and resources. Understands and is responsible for budget variances related to patient volumes/revenues and operational expenses in collaboration with the Director.
