Overview The Nurse Manager is responsible for the development, performance, and management of clinical patient care for nursing, medical assistants and other team members in clinical support roles. Responsibilities Essential Duties: Manages the clinical support team. Implements and provides oversight of clinical care delivered by nursing, medical assistants, and ancillary care team. Establishes work assignments priorities for responsibility areas including nursing, Medical Assistants and ancillary staff. Responsible for management oversight of health center equipment needs, equipped examination rooms, infection control standards, CLIA and Radiology regulations, compliance with Standing Delegation Orders, and emergency events. Monitors the compliance with standards of care for on-site treatments and procedures, administration of medications, as well as timely and quality clinical workflows. Works with the practice administrator to ensure the clinical services team supports the overall operational and fiscal activities of the site to include staffing levels, budgets, financial and operating goals including meeting productivity and quality goals. Approves payroll and time off requests. Working in partnership with the practice administrator, Accountable for administering performance evaluations, recruiting, selecting, monitoring, and orientation of new hires. Responsible for coaching and counseling staff. Participates as an effective member of the site Triad management team to support implementation of continuous improvement activities. Routinely acts as the site lead in the absence of the Practice Administrator. Ensures timely assessments, interventions, and measurement for corrective action strategies when needed. Solves patient issues to ensure expected results. Assures quality of care philosophies and standards of care. Maximizes quality outcomes for patients’ services through the most appropriate utilization of systems. Serves on CUC committees as assigned. Adheres to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations. Establishes a compassionate and respectful environment which values teamwork, integrity and dependability. Maintains supplies inventory by studying usage reports, identifying trends, anticipating needed supplies, approving requisitions and cost allocations. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: High level of skill at building relationships and providing excellent customer and patient care. High degree of knowledge and competency in the practice of nursing and documentation requirements. Requisite skills and ability to perform assigned nursing tasks. High level of problem solving skills to better serve patients and staff. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong application of Microsoft office and electronic health records. People Management/Department Management/Business Unit Management: Develops communication processes to support quality of care and patient experience. Ability to participate in the clinical triad to formulate interventions across CUC multi-disciplinary departments to support standard care and compliance with regulatory standards. Ability to develop and manage professional relationships in a complex healthcare environment including. Capability to collaborate with providers and other members of the healthcare team in meeting the needs of CUC patients.
