About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Nurse Manager of Surgical Services to lead perioperative operations at a large acute care hospital in Ocala, Florida. This leadership role is responsible for the clinical, operational, and financial oversight of Surgical Services, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. The Nurse Manager will oversee perioperative nursing teams, coordinate surgical workflows, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Florida or compact state)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 3–5 years of recent perioperative nursing experience
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or management experience in Surgical Services
  • Strong understanding of OR workflows, regulatory standards, and quality improvement processes
  • Current BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for daily operations across Surgical Services, including Operating Room (OR), Pre-Op, PACU, and related perioperative areas
  • Supervise, mentor, coach, and evaluate nursing and support staff
  • Develop and manage staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and productivity
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements
  • Monitor quality metrics and lead performance improvement initiatives
  • Manage departmental budgets, supply utilization, and cost-control efforts
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Promote patient safety initiatives, infection prevention, and evidence-based practices
  • Support staff education, professional development, and retention strategies
  • Participate in strategic planning and service line growth initiatives
