The Nurse Manager in Training will overlap in management capacity with the outgoing Nurse Manager for a period of two (2) weeks. At the end of that period, the outgoing Nurse Manager will remain on site for a period of nine (9) months in a clinical role entitled Nurse Manager in Training Supervisor to serve as a resource and advisor to the Nurse Manager in Training while in addition to their own duties while the Nurse Manager in Training assumes the management role for the site. The Nurse Manager in Training works under the direct tutelage of the outgoing Nurse Manager and the indirect supervision of the Director of Nursing for a period of nine (9) months to learn the essential functions of the Nurse Manager as outlined below: · supervision, coordination, direction, and evaluation of the work of each of Outer Cape Health Services (OCHS) Heath Center’s nurses and Medical Assistants as the clinical leader to these roles; · contribution to quality and efficient patient outcomes; · serving as the primary clinical resource to staff and is responsibility for creating an environment to support patient-centered, team-based care; · As a member of management, the incumbent is responsible for implementing and enforcing established OCHS policies and procedures and for fulfilling administrative tasks, as assigned. Reports directly to Director of Nursing to ensure compliance with standards of nursing practice and completion of the training program. and indirectly to the Health Center Director for administrative direction and duties. Monthly meetings of the Nurse Manager in Training with the Nurse Manager in Training Supervisor and Director of Nursing will be scheduled in person or virtually at mutually agreed upon times to assess status of training and needs for adjustment or support.
