About The Position

A specialized cardiovascular and spine hospital in the Dallas–Fort Worth area is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager of Critical Care – CVICU to support a growing cardiovascular intensive care program . This is a newly created leadership role driven by unit expansion and increased patient volume. The Nurse Manager will partner with an existing manager to co-lead the CVICU, providing focused leadership oversight, staff development, and operational excellence in a high-acuity environment that includes ECMO services .

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Active RN license (Texas or compact license)
  • Minimum 4 years of recent (within the last year) acute care ICU/CVICU leadership experience
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree
  • CCRN and/or CNRN certification
  • Experience supporting ECMO programs
  • Background in high-acuity cardiovascular critical care environments

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate clinical and operational services within the CVICU
  • Provide leadership oversight for critical care nursing staff and ECMO team members
  • Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary leaders to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care
  • Maintain compliance with professional nursing standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Support staffing, scheduling, and resource management to meet patient acuity and census demands
  • Develop and recommend policies, procedures, and process improvements to enhance quality, safety, and efficiency
  • Maintain clear, effective communication across leadership, clinical teams, and support departments
  • Support unit growth, onboarding, and staff engagement during expansion
