About The Position

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager of Critical Care (CVICU) for a full-time leadership opportunity in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, delegating, directing, negotiating, and evaluating services delivered by the Adult Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) in alignment with the hospital’s mission, vision, and strategic goals. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary leadership to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care while supporting staff development, operational growth, and regulatory compliance. This is a newly created leadership role due to CVICU expansion and represents a strong growth opportunity within the department. Unit & Role Details: • Unit: CVICU (7 South) • Total Beds: 28 beds (expanded from prior 15-bed ICU) • Volume: Expected to fill to capacity • Total FTEs: 40 direct reports (73 total staff shared with existing CVICU Manager) • Additional Oversight: ECMO staff • Reports to: Director of Critical Care & Med/Surg • Position Type: Second Nurse Manager role created due to CVICU expansion

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas or valid compact license required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Minimum of 4 years of RECENT (within the last year) acute care CVICU/ICU leadership experience required
  • BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) required
  • ACLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) required

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • CCRN and/or CNRN preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, delegate, direct, negotiate, and evaluate services delivered by the CVICU and its personnel
  • Collaborate with department leadership to coordinate nursing care activities in accordance with professional nursing standards and administrative policies
  • Maintain effective communication across nursing leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Develop, recommend, and implement policies, procedures, and programs to enhance quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of patient care
  • Support quality initiatives, care experience efforts, and regulatory compliance
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture within a growing CVICU program
