The Nurse Manager, Adult Psychiatry position at North Shore Medical Center, Inc. involves directing, planning, and coordinating the service activities and staffing performance of professional nursing and auxiliary nursing personnel to ensure the delivery of quality patient care. This role may also include providing direct patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing required
  • Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only required
  • Nursing experience 2-3 years required
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to clinical excellence.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree Nursing preferred
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support [ACLS (AHA)] - American Heart Association (AHA) preferred
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
  • Nursing leadership experience 1-2 years preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the development, implementation, and evaluation of staff onboarding, training, and education.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback for staff.
  • Ensures a positive work environment that is safe for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Coordinating unit activities with other hospital departments of the hospital.
  • Develops and implements staffing plans.
