About The Position

Floater Nurse will work primarily at locations: Amethyst/Onyx/CSU/Rivervalley Center - to include being in the on-call rotation and covering vacation and sick days when needed. Essential Functions: Learn admission process for SUD programs to include: Assessment Medication reviews/MARs/Treatments Assist with staffing/chain of command on who to notify for specific things What nursing assessment to complete/vitals Notify providers of pertinent information and schedule appointments Answer questions and assist clients with health questions/concerns notify provider as needed Assist with taking call on nights/weekends/holidays in a rotation to assist with questions Lead groups and set up education for clients to assist in recovery process Promote health and wellbeing and assist with resources in community Contact outside providers and facilities as needed to follow up or gain information needed for treatment. Contact pharmacy and assist with client's medication delivery and education on proper self administration when needed Administer injections as ordered Assist with writing and implementing policy and procedures Assist with staff education and training. Complete infection control forms as needed and follow guidelines and procedures for infections. Complete incident reports as needed for clients and staff and report Learn admission process for CSU to include: Assessments needed Medication reviews/MARS/Treatments Assist with staffing/chain of command on who to notify for specific things What nursing assessments to complete/vitals Notify providers of pertinent information and schedule appointments Answer questions and assist clients with health questions/concerns notify provider as needed Contact outside providers and facilities as needed for continued care and treatment. Contact pharmacy to obtain medication and educate client on self-administration when needed. Administer injections as ordered. Assist with writing and implementing policies and procedures Assist with staff education and training Complete infection control and incident reports per policy Learn how to schedule clients for the outpatient clinic: Learn the process for administering injections in the outpatient setting Learn the process for MAT intake and follow up Learn the process for medication refills and prior authorizations and answering phones

Requirements

  • Active RN Kentucky License
  • Associates required, BSN preferred
  • experience in mental/behavioral health preferred
