The Nurse Externship at Hillcrest Hospital South allows nursing students to work side-by-side with RNs and other licensed professionals. You can explore different types of nursing from Acute Inpatient to Critical Care. You will gain valuable clinical experience designed to assist with the transition from student to professional nurse. Requirements

• Students must be enrolled in an ACEN or CCNE accredited RN program and be in good academic standing
• Have a grade point average of 3.0 or above
• Have completed one semester of nursing clinicals with final grades reflected on an official transcript
• Must be able to attend hospital orientation in full in December or January
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
