Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities: • Develops and updates departmental policies and procedures. • Participates in administrative staff meetings as well as serves on other committees as necessary. • Attends educational meetings and National Seminars to maintain CEU’s and keep abreast of current practices. • Assumes responsibility and accountability for clinical operations in Medical Oncology and IV Infusion, including chemotherapy infusion, program coordination, and clinic nursing operations. • Responsible for: hiring/onboarding/training of staff, assesses clinical competencies, completes performance reviews. • Responsible for payroll and human resources processes. Responsible to develop and implement professional practice goals with understanding of the professional practice model, supports development of new nursing practices assuring a professional practice model. • Responsible for staffing coordination. Knows patient acuity and volume expectations for nurses. Uses clinical knowledge and information to articulate the activities of a patient care unit in relationship to the allocation of resources. • Assures compliance/regulatory preparedness. Develops and implements policies and has ownership for department related policies and procedures. • Promotes operations efficiency within the department through strategic alignment of like services, maximization of space and human resources, as well as standardization of common practices and procedures. • Has the responsibility to lead and support managers and directors in developing and improving operations to create optimal performance levels. • Supports planning, monitoring and managing department budget. Requirements

  • BSN required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Five+ years’ experience as an Oncology Nurse
  • Three (3) years as a supervisor is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills. Demonstrates knowledge in the area of process improvement and system redesign.
  • Excellent skills in interpersonal and written communication. Demonstrates proficiency in budget and human resource management.
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
  • Certification in Oncology/Biotherapy.
  • Basic Life Support
  • This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.
