About The Position

The Nurse Educator is responsible for overseeing the overall educational needs of Walter B. Jones (WBJ) nursing staff which includes RN, LPNs and HCTs. This position is responsible for data collection and record keeping for all trainings provided directly or in conjunction with Nursing Services/Nursing Management. The Nurse Educator assesses learning needs annually, serving as a resource to and instructing staff. This position serves as the Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) instructor and will conduct training during New Employee Orientation.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and one year of experience in the area of specialization.
• Knowledge of quality assurance program practices; planning and development of assessment tools and techniques to include use of software and reporting mediums.
• Knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, and psychiatric nursing theory and processes.
• Ability to organize, develop and conduct formal training programs.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of state and federal law standards, certifying and accrediting bodies, guidelines, and regulations applicable to areas of assignment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with professional and administrative personnel.
