The Nurse Clinic RN plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the operational needs of plastic surgery practice. This position involves direct patient care, clinical coordination, and collaboration with the surgical team to ensure the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), with at least 1-2 years of experience in a surgical or circulating nurse role, preferably in a plastic surgery, dermatology, or cosmetic surgery setting.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential patient information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Empathetic and patient-focused approach, with strong bedside manners.
  • Ability to educate and communicate complex information to patients and their families.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with plastic surgery procedures, such as facelifts, breast augmentations, liposuction, and rhinoplasty is highly preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required, depending on the clinical setting.
  • Certification in perioperative nursing (e.g., CNOR) may be preferred for surgical roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre- and post-operative care, including patient education on surgical procedures, recovery plans, and follow-up care.
  • Conduct pre-surgical assessments, including reviewing patient medical histories, performing necessary tests, and ensuring clearance for surgery.
  • Administer medications, dress wounds, and monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications.
  • Offer empathetic and professional communication to address patient concerns, questions, and anxieties.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to develop individualized patient care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Coordinate scheduling for procedures, consultations, and follow-up appointments.
  • Adhere to all accreditation, safety, and infection control protocols, including AAAASF, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with clinical standards and policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor clinical staff, including medical assistants and support personnel.
  • Assist in training and onboarding new staff members.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the clinical team and with administrative staff.
  • Ensure availability and proper maintenance of clinical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with vendors for ordering and replenishment.
  • Verify the proper functioning of medical devices and report any issues for timely resolution.
