About The Position
Corewell Health is offering a $1,500 sign on bonus for full-time and $750 for part-time positions! About the unit A 39 bed unit; Critical Care Step Down is committed to providing high quality patient and family centered care for patient populations consisting of various medical conditions including pulmonary, cardiac and neurological disorders, post-operative care for the surgical patient who requires a higher level of nursing care. CCSU also cares for ventilated tracheostomy patients. All unit staff attends both hospital and nursing orientation and receives unit-specific orientation. Unit and core competencies are completed during the orientation process. Our team consists of RNs and NAs, teamwork is critical for building a cohesive nursing unit. Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification required
- Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately
- Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals
- Ability to move or lift patients and equipment
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
- Current CAN certification preferred.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred
- Basic computer knowledge is preferred
Responsibilities
- Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
- Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety.
- Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
- Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.
