CCP specializes in providing comprehensive cardiology care and currently has over 30 locations throughout the Philadelphia area. We are currently hiring for a full time Nuclear Medicine Technologist to work at our Phoenixville, PA office.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years clinical nuclear medicine experience with at least 1 year nuclear cardiology concentration or 2 years clinical nuclear cardiology experience.
  • BLS required
  • Must have the ability to multitask
  • Computer knowledge is a must

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with an EMR system is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and assess patient using established procedures. Gives patient appropriate instructions and answers questions. Preps patient by placing IV's, electrodes, etc. according to established protocols. Obtains appropriate consent as required.
  • Performs imaging procedures in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Modifies techniques as appropriate to patient conditions and situations so that optimum results are achieved.
  • Processes clinical studies in a timely fashion for prompt results reporting. Notifies physician of abnormal test results for appropriate follow-up.
  • Assists in all aspects of stress testing. Monitors patient response to exercise and pharmacologic stress and provides emergency care when indicated. Monitors patient post-stress testing and advises appropriate staff of patient problems.
  • Maintains appropriate databases and records according to regulations. Archives patient studies for future review. Makes hard copies for patient's chart, referring physicians, as appropriate.
  • Participates in quality assurance activities: staff meetings, surveys, correlation with cath, echo, etc.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential medical records. Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, test results, referrals and consultations consistent JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), and state regulatory standards.
  • Advises Medical Director or designee of all patient or equipment problems.
  • Prepares for and participates during NRC and state inspections.
  • Participates in research projects as directed by the Medical Director or designee.
  • Performs hot lab duties: ordering receiving, storage, administration and disposal of all radioactive materials in accordance with NRC and state rules and regulations, etc.
  • Performs quality control testing prior to clinical studies. Evaluates and determines the satisfactory performance of equipment within manufacturer's guidelines and specifications. Tracks and reports problems to minimize downtime and rescheduling of patients.
