About The Position

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic testing according to established departmental procedures, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic testing as directed by the physician at a competent technical level not requiring constant supervision. This position operates diagnostic equipment, including peripheral equipment, in a safe and efficient manner to obtain optimal test results. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist manages the patient during the diagnostic procedure to meet patient care standards. This position ensures supplies are maintained and reports problems with equipment to the appropriate staff member. This position actively participates in and supports student clinical education activities where applicable. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a nuclear medicine technology program required
  • Registered as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist by NMTCB or ARRT required
  • Licensed by New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) required
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers required
  • Candidates must possess ability to multitask, with attention to fine detail in a fast-paced environment
  • NJDEP State License expires every two years and must be renewed biennially to work
  • ARRT expires on incumbent's date of birth and must be renewed annually to work, if applicable
  • NMTCB license must be current to work

Nice To Haves

  • 1-year diagnostic testing experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire
