About The Position

Essential Functions: Good fundamental skills with a good understanding of Nuclear Medicine. Practices radiation safety habits using time, distance, and shielding principles. Ensures the correct patient is receiving the correct procedure with the proper indicators. Communicates appropriately with physicians, co-workers, and patients. Ensures good quality imaging and accurate computer processing prior to presenting images to the physician for reading. Follows hot lab procedures according to the manual. Has good knowledge of the operation of all equipment and current developments relating to assigned area. Demonstrates competence in the performance of technologist duties in assigned area. Ensures compliance with accreditation/certification standards, overseeing all aspects of assigned area. BLS (Basic Life Support). Ability to administer first aid in emergency medical situations (CPR). Good fundamental skills with a good understanding of Nuclear Medicine. Required Education and Experience: Satisfactory completion of formal Nuclear Medicine Technology training in an AMA approved school. Good IV skills. Abides by department and Clinic policies and procedures and ensures staff compliance. Prepares new/revises existing section policies and procedures. Maintains a professional and positive manner in times of stress. Must have applicable NMTCB or ARRT(NM) registry. Must have knowledge on the following four (4) basic specialties: Basic Specialties: · Breast Nuclear Medicine · DAT Scans · Nuclear Cardiology · Must demonstrate competency performing SPECT. Must demonstrate competency performing any 3 advanced specialties routinely. Advanced Specialties: · Cardiac PET · Lymphoscintigraphy · General PET · Radioactive Seed Implants · Therapies

Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of formal Nuclear Medicine Technology training in an AMA approved school.
  • ARRT or NMTCB certified.
  • Technical or associate degree.
  • Licensed in the state of Florida.
  • Demonstrated skills in continued quality improvement along with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must have equivalent of 3 years (6,240 hours) continuous Nuclear Medicine experience (education program -does not count) with no more than 1 year break in experience within the last 4 years.
  • At least at least 3 years of experience in 3 specialties (aside from SPECT). Relevant specialties at Watson Clinic include Breast Nuclear Medicine, Cardiac PET, DAT Scans, Lymphoscintigraphy, Nuclear Cardiology, general PET, Radioactive Seed Implants, and Therapies.
  • ACLS/CPR certification.
  • Available to work at all locations.
  • Available to work ALL schedules.
  • No Correction Action Plans within a year (current hires only).
  • Able to proctor Students.
