About The Position

Beloit Health System is looking to add a Nuclear Med Tech to our Team! Sign-On Bonus: Yes Shift: 1st Schedule: Will work 8-hour shifts between 6:30 am – 6:30 pm Hours per week: 24 Benefits Status: Eligible Department: Nuclear Medicine Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals. Applies principles of radiation protection. Exercises professional judgement in performance of service. Produces quality images for interpretation by a physician. Provides patient care and education essential to radiographic procedures. Performs in vivo and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures Prepares radiopharmaceuticals for administration by injection, ingestion, and inhalation methods under approved protocols by board-certified radiologist Greets customers in a friendly, but professional manner Ensures proper patient identification Operates radiation protection equipment, calibration, and imaging equipment Operates other equipment/devices as appropriate Positions and immobilizes patients as necessary Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others Evaluates recorded images for technical quality Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during examination and treatment Practices aseptic technique as necessary Initiates basic life support procedures for patients if necessary Ensures proper documentation of exam, technical factors, film usage, quality improvement, etc. Performs quality control checks as required Maintains accurate patient records and files with confidentiality Assumes responsibility for assigned area ensuring the work area is neat, orderly, and stocked Assumes responsibility for portions of department QA/QI program Supervises, assists instructs, and communicates effectively with radiology students Ensures radiopharmaceuticals are ordered for the next days' work Assists in aspects of patient care including transportation, film, and report filing, and report filing Provides input for equipment and supply decisions Detects, reports to supervision, and contacts repair person for equipment malfunctions Performs all clerical, scheduling, and filing functions Assumes responsibility for portions of department quality assurance and improvement program Pursues continuing education Assumes responsibility for inventory and stocking of supplies in assigned areas Job Requirements Self-motived Ability to be flexible Ability to problem solve Ability to function independently Institutional commitment Ability to interact well with customers Good written and oral communication skills Graduate of an AMA-accredited school of Nuclear Medicine ARRT registration in Nuclear Medicine within one year of graduation from and AMA-accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology or CNMT Registration CPR Certification Maintains 12 ECE hours per year or 24 ECE within 2 years Reporting Relationship: Clinical Manager of Medical Imaging.   • ARRT registration in Nuclear Medicine within one year of graduation from and AMA-accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology or CNMT Registration
  • CPR Certification
  • Maintains 12 ECE hours per year or 24 ECE within 2 years
