About The Position

A Nuclear Medicine Technician is sought for a busy Cardiology practice located in Myrtle Beach. This role requires a strong background in Nuclear Medicine, coupled with excellent computer and customer service skills. The technician will collaborate closely with patients and physicians to facilitate diagnostic and treatment activities, with a primary focus on minimizing health risks for patients. Key responsibilities include the preparation, measurement, and administration of radiopharmaceuticals using various equipment, strictly adhering to prescribed procedures. The technician will also administer diagnostic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a physician and must consistently follow radiation safety techniques for the proper disposal of radioactive materials. Demonstrating current competencies applicable to the job position is essential.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in clinic setting.
  • Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, ARRT and/or certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNM).
  • Knowledge of nuclear medicine and stress testing principles and standards.
  • Knowledge of how to use/maintain equipment appropriately.
  • Knowledge of safety, infection control policies and regulations.
  • Knowledge of use of various electronic information systems.
  • Skill in following appropriate testing procedures.
  • Skill in proper equipment use, preventive maintenance and repair.
  • Skill in appropriate quality control and confidentiality procedures.
  • Skill in using various information systems.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment/decision-making and discretion in reporting/distributing results.
  • Ability to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families and staff.
  • Ability to organize effectively and work quickly with high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to make basic troubleshooting decisions.
  • Background in NUCLEAR MEDICINE.
  • Excellent computer and customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Spectrum Dual D-Spect with Open design.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with patients and doctors to support diagnostic and treatment activities while minimizing health risks for patients.
  • Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals, utilizing a variety of equipment and following prescribed procedures.
  • Administers diagnostic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician.
  • Follows radiation safety techniques when disposing radioactive materials.
  • Demonstrate current competencies applicable to job position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
