About The Position

PRN NUCLEAR MEDICINE TECHNICIAN needed for busy NUCLEAR STRESS TEST LAB in Myrtle Beach to fill in on a PRN basis as needed.  Background in NUCLEAR MEDICINE required. Must have excellent computer and customer service skills.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Work closely with patients and doctors to support diagnostic and treatment activities while minimizing health risks for patients. Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals, utilizing a variety of equipment and following prescribed procedures.  Administers diagnostic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician. Follows radiation safety techniques when disposing radioactive materials.  The job holder must demonstrate current competencies applicable to job position.

Requirements

  • Background in NUCLEAR MEDICINE required.
  • Must have excellent computer and customer service skills.
  • Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Minimum two year’s experience in clinic setting.
  • Requires registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, ARRT and/or certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNM).
  • Knowledge of nuclear medicine and stress testing principles and standards.
  • Knowledge of how to use/maintain equipment appropriately.
  • Knowledge of safety, infection control policies and regulations.
  • Knowledge of use of various electronic information systems.
  • Skill in following appropriate testing procedures.
  • Skill in proper equipment use, preventive maintenance and repair.
  • Skill in appropriate quality control and confidentiality procedures.
  • Skill in using various information systems.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment/decision-making and discretion in reporting/distributing results.
  • Ability to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families and staff.
  • Ability to organize effectively and work quickly with high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to make basic troubleshooting decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Spectrum Dual D-Spect with Open design a plus
