Job Summary Responsible for all aspects of the diagnostic physics program and radiologic technology at Corewell Health. Responsibilities include clinical duties , innovation , teaching , research , service to the Corewell Health enterprise and career development through leadership of the Diagnostic Medical Physics team as well as involvement in professional societies . Within Imaging and for departments that use imaging in other service lines , responsible for image quality and radiation safety for patients and employees . Along with the Diagnostic Medical Physics team , provides consultant services to the organization , as well as the physicians , in the clinical use of all imaging modalities . Radiologic technology responsibilities include support for optimizing clinical protocols . Actively participates in departmental projects including radiation shielding evaluation as well as operational requirements for imaging equipment . As Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), responsible for compliance with Federal (NRC) and State of Michigan regulations pertaining to the use of radiation . This individual in this position will be expected to be the named RSO on the Corewell Health West NRC license . Certification by either the American Board of Radiology in Nuclear Medicine Physics is or must be obtained within 9 months of hire . Alternative certification by the American Board of Science in Nuclear Medicine in Nuclear Medicine Physics and Instrumentation .
