About The Position

As our Nuclear Med Tech, you will be a specialized healthcare professional, vital in providing diagnostic and therapeutic services through the precise application of radionuclides. Every day, you will expertly perform Nuclear Medicine procedures, utilizing radionuclides to produce high-quality images and data for licensed practitioners. You'll ensure appropriate patient care, recognize conditions essential for successful procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate equipment, and adhere to strict radiation safety. To be successful in this role demands current certification, advanced technical expertise, and an exceptional eye for detail, coupled with a thorough understanding of radiation safety. Your compassionate patient care and dedication to precise imaging will be essential. Requirements

  • Graduate from an AMA approved program of Nuclear Medicine Technology (minimum 1 year) and 1-3 years
  • Two years of successful nuclear medicine technology practice, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist, upon hire or Registered Technologist Nuclear Medicine Technology, upon hire

  • Bachelors Of Science, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Performs exams based on patient anatomy and body habitus.
  • Displays a thorough knowledge of anatomy, positioning and of various isotopes utilized.
  • Displays competency injecting isotopes, if required.
  • Updates patient examination history file, records unusual conditions/limitations, documents examination time, room number and technique factors.
  • Completes examination and billing procedures as required.
  • Accurately marks all images with appropriate orientation and position.
  • Assures that the patient information is clearly visible.
  • Performs visual preventive safety inspections.
  • Reports misadministration or isotope spills to appropriate personnel.
  • Adheres to federal and state regulations that govern Nuclear Medicine at all times.
  • Stays abreast of regulatory changes by attending mandatory competency evaluations, Physicist Education sessions, and other required educational courses.
