The Nuclear Medicine Techologist will perform in-vivo studies and therapeutic and diagnostic imaging procedures according to written or transcribed verbal orders of a physician within the scope of his/her certification at all Dignity Health Sacramento facilities according to established standards and practices. The incumbent will demonstrate competency for neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. Technologists can be required to participate in the departments call schedule to ensure coverage weeknights, weekends, and holidays. Special Required Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of:Anatomy and physiology (to include cross sectional when required), medical terminology relating to nuclear medicine, principles of operation and care of nuclear medicine equipment, currently accepted diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, radiation safety requirements and practices for the operator, patient and public, film processing systems, mechanical and electrical safety practices and requirements in the patient examination environment, and preparation, use and hazards of radio pharmaceuticals.
