Job Overview Jensen Hughes is seeking Nuclear Engineering Interns in offices across the company. Learn from some of the industry leading professionals and gain experience towards your career goals of becoming an engineer. We provide technical support to a wide variety of engineering projects that range from day-to-day nuclear power plant operation to cutting edge research and development in all areas related to plant safety. Many interns at our company become full-time Associates upon graduation.

Requirements

  • Working towards a BS or MS in Mechanical, Nuclear, Electrical, Chemical, or other related field
  • Excellent communication skills
  • US Citizenship or Green card holder required
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Access database tools to track/analyze data in support of various risk analysis tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with nuclear technology (e.g., United States Navy Nuclear Program) is a plus
  • MathCAD experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Learn to perform probabilistic risk assessments (PRA) and engineering analyses.
  • Develop technical documentation to support the safe operation of nuclear power plants.
  • Demonstrate a solid grasp of engineering fundamentals.
  • Adapt quickly to learning new concepts and methodologies.
  • Apply an analytical mindset to problem-solving.
  • Pay meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Deliver clear and concise oral and written presentations as a consultant.
