Shape the future of clean energy—one outage at a time Join a team that keeps nuclear facilities operating safely and efficiently. As a remote Nuclear Fuel-Handling Field Service Technologist, you’ll be part of Westinghouse’s FHE Outage and Maintenance Services, supporting both nuclear fuel handling systems and outage-critical cranes. You’ll report to the FHE Outage and Maintenance Supervisor and work primarily at operating nuclear power plants and local service centers across the U.S. and abroad. Expect significant travel by air and road (approximately 60%–80%) and work around hazardous materials. A day in the life Arrive on-site, align with plant procedures, and review detailed operational and maintenance documentation and drawings. Install, set up, maintain, inspect, calibrate, and troubleshoot fuel-handling equipment and outage-critical crane systems with precision and care. Partner with engineering and training teams: perform equipment modifications, set up and test systems, prepare mock-ups, conduct process testing, and support equipment and process qualifications. Meticulously document equipment performance during field implementation and verify corrective actions before the next scheduled use. Operate within qualified procedures, uphold strict quality standards, and log any quality-related issues—always with a Safety First mindset and excellent housekeeping. Maintain Unescorted Access at nuclear sites and collaborate across peers, supervisors, contractors, customers, and other departments with strong customer service and problem-solving focus. Report daily progress, changes, and issues to the service supervisor. Travel frequently and adapt to changing site conditions.
