We are seeking a Nuclear Fuel Cycle Evaluation Associate who will focus on the analysis of nuclear fuel cycles in support of activities associated with a variety of U.S. government projects. This position resides in the Materials Security and Counterproliferation (MS&C) Group in the Nuclear Nonproliferation Division (NND) in the National Security Sciences Directorate (NSSD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). The Nuclear Nonproliferation Division performs research and development to detect, characterize, and monitor nuclear fuel cycle activities and nuclear explosions; develops concepts, approaches, and technologies to strengthen global security for nuclear and radiological material; and engages with federal agencies to enhance international nonproliferation regimes. This position will directly support the Program Manager and principal investigators with new and existing projects including collecting, evaluating, assessing, and reporting on efforts as defined in current and on-going special programs and projects plans. In addition, this individual will support DOE HQ to respond to requests for information expeditiously in support of U.S. government sponsors. The selected candidate will learn and then focus on one or more of the following analytic or raw reporting functions: Threat Analysis (assess and communicate real-time analytic judgments), Collection Management (enhance ongoing collection capabilities and disseminate raw information against priority collection requirements dictated by the sponsor), Domain Analysis (consolidate comprehensive information into strategic technical products that contextualize information), and Reports Officer (report raw information in a timely manner through various forms of media, and documents). The selected candidate will review, analyze, collate, and archive a wide range of identified classified information and produce written analyses (products) and briefings pertaining to specific nuclear fuel cycle topics to inform senior policymakers in the sponsor's organization. The selected candidate will support technical exchanges with foreign counterparts if/as necessary. The selected candidate will be responsible for interfacing the raw information with existing classified electronic document management systems (EDMSs).
