About The Position

This position is located at Seabrook Power Station, Seabrook New Hampshire: This position will be responsible for the implementation of field monitoring activities and analysis/evaluation of acquired data to validate Seabrook Structures remains within the established design basis. Civil Engineer strongly preferred. Also acts as liaison to interfacing departments and vendor partners. Prepares Engineering documentation and assists with technical support for licensing or other regulatory proceedings. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. 50% field/ 50% office. Ideal candidate should be comfortable working in the field with a safety-conscious attitude in varied conditions (sitting, standing, confined spaces, heights, outdoors, etc.). Role requires a detail-oriented individual for consistency and quality of data and maintaining compliance with program requirements. Nuclear and program-specific training provided. Successful candidate has demonstrated the ability to align with best industry performance. Additionally, understanding, and previous high performance in FPL’s/NEE’s organizations (such as Nuclear, Civil, Structures) to bring independent key perspectives to the organization is a plus. It is highly preferred that the candidate will have Experience, knowledge and skills in structure monitoring programs, Civil Engineering of concrete structures, and Alkali Silica Reaction (ASR). This job supports the project and operational work of senior engineers. Employees in this role perform fundamental engineering tasks that require the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Individuals participate in the engineering analysis and evaluation process and test solutions to solve problems.

Requirements

  • Experience: 0+ years
  • Entry level job requiring comprehension of engineering principles, theory, and their application to power plant systems, components, and structures
  • Knowledge of assigned Engineering specialty

Responsibilities

  • Field inspections for ASR, building deformation, and structural monitoring
  • Maintaining inspection material archives, including data, field notes, photos/ video, etc.
  • Tracking of inspection tooling
  • Coordination and scheduling of inspections, both within and across departments
  • Work order management
  • Fulfillment of vendor data requests
  • Processing vendor documents
  • Material testing (compression, MOE)
  • Additional program responsibilities and field support as required
  • Analyzing and trending monitoring data
  • Presenting health of structures to management
  • Advocating actions to improve the overall long-term health of monitored structures
  • Performs fundamental engineering activities that require the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria
  • Participates in the analysis and evaluation of engineering problems
  • Prepares design change and technical evaluation research for review
  • Develops test activity to evaluate recommended solutions and analyzes data for result inconsistencies
  • Coordinates Engineering activities with other Engineering departments and with other company departments
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
