Performs a Nuclear Cardiology studies, which require theoretical insight and experience. Exercises complex skill, judgment and knowledge of the principles and methods of the Nuclear Cardiology, including SPECT, SPECT/CT, PET/CT. Provides/performs a number of tasks in the areas of patient care, technical skills and documentation. Practices /follows radiation safety measures and rules when working in the laboratory to reduce radiation exposure and help prevent radiation contamination. When caring for patients, explains the procedures to the patient and ensures patient comfort and safety during and after exam. Evaluate and address patient's needs and know how obtain medical assistance if needed. Acquires and processes images, performs quality control on cameras and dose calibrator, and maintains the radiopharmacy. Responsible for recording and documenting patient studies on the daily log and on the patient schedule board. Archives patient studies, documents all quality control results according to laboratory guidelines, and orders radiopharmaceuticals. The staff nuclear cardiology technologist provides/performs a number of tasks in the areas of patient care, technical skills and documentation. He/she practices /follows radiation safety measures and rules when working in the laboratory to reduce radiation exposure and help prevent radiation contamination. The nuclear cardiology technologist explains the procedures to the patient and ensures patient comfort and safety during and after exam. The nuclear cardiology technologists are able to evaluate and address patient's needs and know how to obtain medical assistance if needed. Technical skills include: Acquiring and processing images, performing quality control on the CZT gamma camera and the dose calibrator in addition to maintaining the radiopharmacy. The staff nuclear cardiology technologist is responsible for recording and documenting patient data in the eRecord reporting system CUPID. He/she archives patient studies, documents all quality control results according to laboratory guidelines, and orders radiopharmaceuticals. The staff nuclear cardiology technologist is expected to report for his or her shift on time. The staff technologist will incorporate and demonstrate the Strong Commitment ICARE values by conducting themselves in a fair, responsible manner.
