Basic Job Functions:We are seeking qualified candidates for the Product Applications & Business Development Engineer position. This role leads marketing and sales efforts to develop new products and business opportunities, serves as the primary customer contact for quality and technical matters, and collaborates daily with customers and internal teams on quality issues and claims. The position requires a strong understanding of customer end uses and critical product parameters, as well as the ability to effectively communicate customer needs internally and drive quality improvements. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Working knowledge of flat-rolled steel product characteristics and specifications
  • Supervisory experience in flat-rolled market
  • Prior experience in outside flat-rolled sales and/or customer management
  • Strong understanding of sheet steel manufacturing processes and their impact on product performance
  • Willingness to travel as required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of downstream product characteristics and specifications for the flat-rolled steel industry.
  • Knowledge of Level 2, MIPS, QMS and other systems used to gather and analyze product and/or process data.
