We are searching for the best talent for NPI Test Engineer. The NPI Test Engineer is a key team member product pipeline will work closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to develop sophisticated medical devices. Candidates must be self-motivated, independent and have an eagerness to learn and work as a team, and a desire to thrive in a dynamic environment. In this position, you are expected to demonstrate sophisticated electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge, be able to independently resolve approaches to difficult technical problems and communicate broadly across engineering teams and associated management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer or related engineering field is required
  • Produce high quality documentation that is clearly understandable by internal and external personnel is required
  • Basic understanding and experience of electrical systems and is required
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics is required
  • Proficiency and knowledge with electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies is required
  • Ability to travel up to 10% to contract manufacturers is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Product Lifecycle Management systems such as Oracle Agile is highly preferred
  • Experience in Medical Device industry is preferred
  • Experience working on instrumentation automation and using scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Batch, Bash or Linux commands is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Manufacturing and Design teams to design, develop, document, and qualify test processes used during the manufacturing of electro-mechanical components and subassemblies of a medical robotics system
  • Design, develop, document, and qualify electro-mechanical manufacturing fixtures utilizing both custom and off-the shelf hardware and software
  • Assist in the development of test algorithms, test scripts, data acquisition and measurement systems with focus on repeatability and reproducibility
  • Automate test processes utilizing in-house developed test software and scripts
  • Release engineering documentation and bill of materials
  • Support production floor with training and troubleshooting activities
  • Work under general guidance to contribute to all aspects of test development, coverage, drive execution and test results documentation
