The NPI Engineering Technician position requires focused attention to details of high-complexity products while supporting the various team members in the timely and accurate completion of the phased gate NPI activities. This role is responsible for supporting the activities of the New Product Introduction from design to release and ensuring that all team members complete the critical phases.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in an Electronics/Manufacturing environment
  • Must possess a solid understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes and exposure to various component types (SMT, Through-Hole, Press Fit, Wire Harness, etc…)
  • Must have strong communication and organization skills – written and verbal.
  • Clearly demonstrate flexibility and self-discipline to plan/accomplish objectives while multi-tasking and prioritizing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, some work instruction software (VKS preferred), ERP system experience (Glovia), Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Project, and/or Project Planning skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor/Associate degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Submitting and/or tracking ECNs and deviations as required.
  • Provides review and understanding of assembly drawings (dimensioning/tolerances) and instructions.
  • Review of document packages for completeness. This includes the bill of materials, work instructions, test procedures, drawings, basic schematics, special instructions, etc.
  • Prepares process flows and assembly work instructions as required.
  • Ensures manufacturing processes are clear, robust, error-proofed, and repeatable.
  • Coordinates New Product Introduction (NPI) activities with multiple departments.
  • Assures that all required customer, industry, and company work standards are properly documented.
  • Interfaces with the Manufacturing Team, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, and Test Engineering.
