About The Position

The NPI Project Manager plays a critical role in the successful launch of new products and changeovers (Supplier moves, revision changes, etc,). This position requires a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and a keen eye for detail. The NPM will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product transitions from product release, commercialization and end of life cycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in product development or manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven track record of building and executing a changeover tracking system.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Must be agile to perform in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification or experience in Six Sigma methodologies can be beneficial for process improvement and quality control.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Changeover Management: Lead all operational aspects of product transition once engineering designs are released.
  • Inventory Control: Direct responsibility to execute a material plan that prevents the accumulation of obsolete inventory and to work hand and hand with Purchasing team to source all parts related to the change.
  • Baseline Documentation: Review and verify the accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Work Instructions; ensure these documents are physically and digitally available to the production floor.
  • Functional Alignment: Confirm that Sourcing, Engineering, and Production teams have completed all prerequisite tasks prior to the Start of Production (SOP) date.
  • Operational Optimization: Collaborate directly with Operations Engineers to refine manufacturing processes, targeting specific improvements in production cost and labor efficiency.
  • Document Audit: Perform detailed reviews of engineering drawings and specifications to ensure they are manufacturable and accurately reflected in the work instructions.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Work alongside Testing Engineers and Technicians to verify product performance and reliability.
  • Issue Escalation: Monitor test data; identify anomalies or potential failure points and convene the necessary technical teams to implement resolutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Partner with Quality teams to ensure that the final product adheres to all internal and external quality standards.
  • Transition Support: Provide on-floor support during the initial transition of new products into the production environment.
  • Yield Performance: Monitor daily production yields during the ramp-up phase; identify, document, and resolve technical or procedural bottlenecks.
  • Document Maintenance: Maintain and organize the master set of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and test reports.
  • Planning: Develop and maintain the integrated project plan and timeline for each product launch.
  • Reporting: Generate regular status reports for management, focusing on milestone progress, and identified risks.
