About The Position

The NPI Project Engineer is responsible for leading new product introductions from initial setup through planning, execution, delivery, and post-launch review. This role ensures customer, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain requirements are clearly defined, aligned, and executed to deliver compliant products on time and within scope.

Requirements

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, machining, tooling, and fixturing.
  • Ability to interpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and PO requirements.
  • Experience coordinating outside processing (OSP) and working with external vendors.
  • Working knowledge of quality requirements, including inspections, testing, and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).
  • Strong risk assessment and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues early and drive resolution.
  • Effective cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and standard project tracking tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in NPI, project engineering, manufacturing engineering, or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end execution of NPI projects, from system setup and planning through shipment and post-mortem.
  • Define and validate part requirements, drawings, manufacturing processes, and PO deliverables to ensure manufacturability and compliance.
  • Develop and manage project plans including tasks, schedules, dependencies, resources, and long-lead items.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams and external vendors to execute project objectives.
  • Manage outside processing (OSP), tooling, fixturing, and special requirements including testing and First Article Inspection (FAIR).
  • Track project performance against plan, manage changes, assess risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements are met throughout execution.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and changes to internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Drive continuous improvement through documentation updates and post-project lessons learned.
