The NPD Specialist-Simulation will develop, implement, and evaluate clinical simulation across the MultiCare Health System. This role involves creating simulation activities to address knowledge, skill, critical thinking, and behavior gaps within the healthcare environment, integrating nursing simulation components into the curriculum. The specialist will be primarily responsible for developing and implementing tools, theories, skills, and knowledge in nursing professional development to enhance evidence-based simulation efforts for clinical staff. The incumbent will act as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for the NPD specialty, and partner for practice transitions, as outlined by the Association of Nursing Professional Development. This position operates independently under limited supervision by an Executive Director or assigned manager, focusing on areas such as practice gap assessment, learning needs identification, outcomes planning, implementation, coordination, and fostering positive learning environments. The role also emphasizes consultation, evaluation, ethics, education, evidence-based practice, research, quality of NPD practice, change management, leadership, collaboration, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, mentorship, customer relations, standardization, communication, organization, prioritization, flexibility, and creativity across onboarding, competency management, continuing education, role development, collaborative partnerships, and evidence-based practice. Significant collaboration with Program Managers, Clinical Operational Managers and Directors, and Unit-Based NPD S/G is expected.
