Engages in environmental scanning to identify practice gaps and collaborates with others in improving practice and healthcare outcomes. Functions as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for Nursing Professional Development (NPD) specialty, and partner for practice transitions. Supports learning, change, professional role competence and growth, which ultimately lead to optimal patient care, population health, and protection of the public. FT position-40 hours/week, days, Monday-Friday. Opportunity for hybrid onsite/remote as schedule allows, with baseline requirement of on-site presence three out of five days per week The primary focus of this position will be as the program lead (Director) of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) accredited UR CNPD Provider Unit. When CNE credit is awarded by the UR CNPD Provider Unit, the NPD Practitioner/Specialist will ensure current ANCC criteria and standards are upheld and that the educational activities offered are effectively planned, implemented, and evaluated according to educational standards and adult learning principles. The NPD Practitioner/Specialist will work closely with Nurse Planners across organizational service lines to provide role orientation, competence, and compliance with ANCC criteria. In addition, the NPD Practitioner/Specialist will work collaboratively within the Nursing Practice Career Pathways (NPCP) program to oversee the advancement and promotion process within the institution, contributing to job descriptions, data collection, role descriptions, policy and website maintenance, and provide support to service line NPCP representatives. Requirements

  • Current NYS RN licensure
  • BSN
  • Master’s Degree in a related field in Nursing preferred; other related fields considered.
  • Acute care nursing experience is required

Nice To Haves

  • Board certification in Nursing Professional Development encouraged.
  • Additional experience as a preceptor, educator, or leader preferred.
  • Curriculum development and/or program management experience is preferred.
