About The Position

Works directly with Telehospitalists for cross coverage for admitted patients across the system at our rural locations. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team. Job Description: Principle Responsibilities Cross cover for admitted patients across the system at our rural locations. Provides remote clinical care for patients while they are in the hospital. Completes comprehensive patient assessments. Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness. Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician. Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment. Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care. Refers for specialty care when determined. Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff. Other duties as assigned. Practice Details 20 Telehospitalist team Excellian, our EMR, is a software product from Epic and is considered one of the most comprehensive systems in the nation. Full time night shift, 9pm 7am. Remote coverage for Cambridge, Owatonna, Faribault, United Regina, River Falls, New Ulm, St. Francis and Buffalo Hospitalist

Requirements

  • Master's degree completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Certification through ANCC
  • Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges
  • ACLS/BLS Tier 3 - required within 180 Days

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred and Telehospitalist highly desired.
