About The Position

The Emory Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Cardiac Critical Care post graduate Fellowship is a one year training program that teaches Fellows to become highly skilled in the multidisciplinary, collaborative and evidence-based management of complex patients in the cardiac intensive care unit. This program attracts new graduates and established APPs seeking a structured educational program who want to become experts and leaders in their field. Our program combines a highly detailed competency-based curriculum with hands on learning in the clinical setting. Rotations incorporate cardiac care units, medical, cardiovascular surgical, general surgical, and neurological ICUs as well as brief exposures with electrophysiology, echocardiography, heart failure, nephrology, and infectious diseases services. Upon successful completion of the program, the Fellow will be eligible for employment within Emory Healthcare and become a practice leader within the institution. The Emory Heart & Vascular Center Division of Cardiology NP/PA Cardiac Critical Care Fellowship Program is a one-year program that prepares fellows to become highly skilled in the multidisciplinary, collaborative and evidence-based management of complex patients in the cardiac intensive care unit. This postgraduate Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner program in Cardiac Critical Care consists of combines a highly detailed competency-based curriculum with hands on learning in the clinical setting.one year of training across the spectrum of our specialty. The year is structured to meet the clinical, didactic, and research goals that will prepare the advanced practice provider for a successful career in the field of cardiology.

Requirements

  • Eligible to graduate from an accredited ACNP/AGACNP or PA program.
  • Submission of a completed application by 3/27/2026.
  • Completed application includes submission of the following supporting documentation: CV/Resume, Statement of Intent, 2 Letters of Recommendation, Official Transcripts, Current BLS and ACLS certifications issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Completion of an accredited PA or NP master's program prior to the start of the Fellowship program.
  • NP candidates must be Acute Care certified (ACNP or AGACNP) or pursuing an Acute Care certification.
  • National board certification as a PA or NP.
  • Eligible for licensure as a PA or NP in Georgia.
  • Eligible for DEA license.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications issued by the American Heart Association.
