About The Position

Responsible for providing assessment, evaluation, and treatment of acute care, adult medical-surgical patients under the guidance of the Hospitalist physicians. University of Michigan Health - Sparrow is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated, full-time Nocturnist NP/PA to join the Critical Care team located in Lansing, Michigan. Requirements

  • 3-5 yrs as a NP/PA acute care hospital experience preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program
  • RN and current MI License required
  • Certification and licensure as a NP/PA in the State of MI required.
  • Current BCLS.
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective plan of care.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, families, physicians and other hospital associates.
  • Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.

Nice To Haves

  • MSN degree preferred
  • Critical Care experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates appropriate admissions to appropriate health system units by initiating orders, coordinating with appropriate attending physician, and moderating medication reconciliation process.
  • Performs and dictates History & Physical, medical Consultation, Discharge Summary and SOAP notes as per hospitalist service standards.
  • Assists with development of plan of care.
  • Reviews diagnostic X-Rays, monitors lab values and other diagnostic studies.
  • Performs daily rounds as assigned by Hospitalist physicians.
  • Responds to Rapid Response Team (RRT) calls as assigned.
  • Communicates with physicians, nursing staff, residents and other members of the medical team to maintain current and accurate updates in patient status.
