Following FIFO guidelines Ability to read and follow recipes (multi-step written and oral instructions) Math skills sufficient to comprehend and manipulate weights and measures. Able to operate, maintain and clean steam, electric and gas cooking equipment Monitor equipment and facilitate maintenance activities Assist managerial staff in the costing and budgeting for the kitchen. Post relevant information needed for staff and volunteers in appropriate places Interact with clients and community sites for coordination and quality assurance Understand and comply completely with all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, directives, assignments, and training programs. Supervise and provide guidance, to volunteers, for interns/Americorp staff Volunteer Services responsibilities Promote and provides a positive volunteer experience Train and organizes tasks for volunteers Supervise volunteer groups and reports back to Volunteer Services if required Provide instruction to volunteers on key safety and cleaning tasks Assign activities Oversee the safety of volunteers Help in the administrative duties of Nourish Nutrition Services by assisting as a back up to managerial staff. Duties would include: Monitoring of databases for new referrals Tracking and organizing food pantry reservations Providing routes to volunteers Entering in software programs visits and usage data Ordering of meals and food Assist in the Food Pantry by preparing orders, stocking, and delivering items as needed. Deliver food items utilizing safe transport practices
