Requirements

  • Exceptional understanding of GAAP and general accounting skills and ability to effectively communicate these to clients; educate oneself on changing Accounting Standards and often serve as the Internal Expert.
  • 5-10 years in small to mid-sized firms, preferably with 3-5 years of management-related experience in multiple environment sectors
  • Demonstrated success in developing and working with clients to create reporting outside of standard formats routinely.
  • Ability and willingness to train and support team members on various software platforms.
  • Ability to clearly summarize budget details and present relevant information to key stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate to non-financial leaders in a clear, concise and helpful way.
  • Possess solid working knowledge of compliance and regulatory regulations for organizations working within the nonprofit sector and general business practices.

Responsibilities

  • Confidently lead complex or challenging client meetings, bridging the needs of multiple constituencies. Anticipate and organize next steps.
  • Be a go-to resource for client launches and special projects, often going above and beyond normal workload to pitch in during heavy client demand.
  • Actively seek to share learning with the team during Insource meetings and regularly write Insource content to share industry knowledge and expertise with their peers.
  • Work as a client or project leader; inform team members, Team Lead, and others in the case of a multi-service client about the status of tasks, client news and any feedback from the client in a clear manner.
  • Perceived content/leader amongst peers and often sought out for team advice
  • Proactive vs reactive communication of any potential issues/errors.
  • Serve as a thought partner to the CEO/ED of the organization on all financial matters, including financial strategy and planning.
  • Serve as the default leader on all assigned financial client engagements and add value above and beyond client expectations.
  • Present to Board or management in a clear and concise manner and serve as a resource to client’s senior management, acting as an extension of the client’s management team.
  • Present financial report analysis to Executive Staff and/or Boards on all assigned clients independently as needed, including board material preparations or preparation oversight.
  • Actively engage organizationally. Attend required and voluntary events, seek interactions with those outside of service area. Represent Insource at networking events and client events .
  • Regularly assist in business development efforts as requested.
  • Demonstrate high performance and support for all colleagues.
  • Contribute to social media, newsletter, and presentation opportunities regularly – internally, sometimes externally.
  • Serve as reviewer/advisor of narrative analysis, and lead high-level strategic conversations based on Financial Statement implications
  • Prepare new, non-standard, or alternative financial reports, including dashboards, benchmarks, and the separation of cash vs. accrual reporting and analysis.
  • Assess client financial systems and make relevant recommendations to proactively mitigate risk and improve overall efficiency, including integrating multiple data/financial systems.
  • Participate in new business development efforts as needed or requested.
