About The Position

This position is for a Non-Special Education Paraprofessional for the Middle School Summer Academy. It is a temporary summer role, requiring 5 hours of work per day, Monday through Friday (excluding June 19th, a non-school day), from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The employment period is from June 8 to June 26, 2026. The primary responsibilities include supporting classroom instruction for small groups or individual students, assisting with instructional materials, supervising students during various activities, reinforcing school policies, maintaining a positive classroom environment, providing feedback to the lead teacher, and helping with daily classroom setup and cleanup. Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Strong affinity for students; celebrating and accommodating the differences each student brings to the school.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in working with students.
  • Proficient knowledge in classroom policies and procedures.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Excellent observation and analytical skills.
  • Skills in problem solving and conflict resolution with students.
  • Strong ability to supervise small groups of students during academic activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support classroom instruction by working with small groups or individual students.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of instructional materials and activities.
  • Supervise students during lessons, meals, transitions, and recreational activities.
  • Reinforce behavioral and academic expectations in alignment with school policies.
  • Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Provide feedback to the lead teacher regarding student progress and behavior.
  • Assist with set-up and clean-up of daily classroom activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the lead teacher or program coordinator.
