Now, the Neurological Institute is expanding with a new state-of-the-art facility which will include additional operating rooms and ambulatory, infusion, imaging, EMG and sleep and brain study services. Managing over 10,000 patients every year, Cleveland Clinic has one of the largest, most comprehensive programs in the world for the evaluation, medical and surgical treatment of epilepsy in children and adults. Within the Epilepsy Department, you will be part of a family of caregivers committed to providing state-of-the-art diagnostic technologies and surgical treatment options. A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 7:00PM - 7:00AM. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Gather data using closed circuit audio/visual equipment and electrophysiological recording instruments. Utilize electrophysiological recording instruments using both surface recording electrodes and electrophysiological recording instruments. Perform record keeping data using the computer and maintain daily logs of patients' status. Use critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to work with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics or related patient care field
  • OR two years of patient care experience (may substitute for Associate's Degree)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • One year experience as a Non-Registered EEG Technician OR first year completion of an Associate's Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics
  • First year completion of an Associate's Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics
  • American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) credentialing for Registered EEG Technologist (R. EEG T.) within two years of hire
  • Ability to assist with positioning and transporting of patients, pushing beds, carts and wheelchairs.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.
  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
