About The Position

The Non-Ferrous Supervisor oversees the daily operations of our non-ferrous recycled metals department. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing workflow efficiency in the handling and processing of non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, brass, and stainless steel.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
5 years of experience in non-ferrous metal recycling, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of non-ferrous metals recycling processes, equipment, and industry standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to troubleshoot equipment or operational issues quickly.
Ability to operate forklifts, balers, and other processing equipment.
Familiarity with safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
Basic computer skills for reporting and inventory tracking.

Responsibilities

Supervise the sorting, grading, and processing of non-ferrous metals.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Train and lead a team of teammates, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
Maintain accurate records of material weights, grades, and shipments.
Conduct quality control checks on incoming and outgoing materials.
Coordinate with logistics and sales teams to meet production and delivery goals.
Monitor and maintain equipment, scheduling repairs and maintenance as needed.
Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Oversee inventory accuracy, including conducting regular physical audits in line with company standards.
Enforce company policies and procedures.
