The Louisville, Kentucky site of BAE systems is seeking a Non-Destructive Testing Level III Inspector (RT). In this role as an NDT Level III, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding Radiographic Testing (RT) and will act as a liaison with parties both internal and external. In this role, you'll be tasked to develop and maintain a robust RT inspection program alongside current stakeholders, assist in the training and continued development of Level II inspectors to SNT-TC-1A and applicable military standards, will lead inspection activities with Level II inspectors, and will assist in Technical Performance Evaluations (TPEs) of Level II inspectors. You will also work with the NDT Manager to develop audit cadence of external suppliers. As needed, you can expect travel of up to 10% to other sites of BAE Systems including York, Pennsylvania, to provide support and for training purposes.

  • Typically requires High School diploma, GED, or the overall equivalent, and Certification or the ability to acquire certification to and perform Level III functions in RT, IAW SNT-TC-1A in not greater than 12 weeks.
  • Highly effective communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to communicate and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience leading and mentoring others/teams.
  • Able to effectively train, give guidance, and assist customers, suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing personnel.
  • Ability to provide NDT training to Level II inspectors and welders (both on-the-job and in a classroom setting) effectively.
  • Experience with nonconformance tracking, Cause/Corrective Action development.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings including related specifications and process documents.
  • Ability to interpret purchase order requirements and perform evaluations of submitted test reports and certifications.
  • Able to support on-site at the Louisville manufacturing facility.
  • Computer proficiency to include MS Office Suite and other industry-related software.
  • Strong organizational and priority-setting skills.
  • Possess or able to attain a confidential clearance.
  • Background or knowledge of UT, VT, MT, and PT methodologies.
