About The Position

The CT State Community College is developing a pool of applicants for potential part-time teaching positions for the non-credit course offerings in the Languages fields. Classes may be taught on ground and/or online. Position Summary: CSCU is developing a pool of applicants for potential part-time teaching positions in the Continuing Education and Workforce Development within the non-credit division at the College. The Non-Credit Lecturer must meet all teaching expectations, as outlined by the Director of Workforce Development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in TESOL, English/Composition, Linguistics, Foreign Language, or Education.
• Two (2) years of teaching college level ESL courses.
• Experience with online teaching platforms including but not limited to Blackboard, WebEx and Microsoft Teams.
• Prior experience in Course work for adult education certification in ESL or Certificate in TESOL
• Candidates must possess proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students.
• Experience with reflective, interactive, culturally responsive pedagogical teaching techniques.
• They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)

Nice To Haves

• Master's in in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, English, Foreign Language, and two years of teaching ESL at the college/adult level.
• Or MA in Education with a focus on TESOL, secondary education, or adult education and two years of teaching ESL at the college/adult level.
