As a Non-Certified CS/SPD Technician, you will play a key role in how our operating rooms care for patients. In this role, you will provide safe and efficient practices for decontamination, instrument inspection, assembly, wrapping, and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment. You will be responsible for case cart management and ensuring compliance with departmental standards A caregiver in this position works days, 10:00am—6:30pm. Will float between Crile and Main Campus Q building.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Sterile Processing certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER) is required within 18 months after hire, unless an extension is granted at the purview of leadership
  • Can use the computerized instrument tracking system to perform assigned duties, including obtaining instrument count sheets, special handling instructions for instrumentation, documenting sterilization loads, and other tasks
  • Military experience , such as Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F), or similar, will be considered

Nice To Haves

  • One year of Healthcare experience or a similar background in Mechanical/Manufacturing Assembly

Responsibilities

  • Provide case care management.
  • Properly handle equipment, instruments and chemicals.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Observe personal protective equipment standards in the decontamination process.
  • Scan, sort, inspect and assemble, wrap and label instruments by instrument list as documented in the procedure.
  • Perform record keeping.
