About The Position

Metals USA -- Gregor Technologies Division is seeking a Non-CDL Truck Driver in
Torrington, CT. Metals USA is a solid, growth-oriented aluminum/stainless steel
distribution center servicing the defense, aerospace, and fabrication
industries.

The Non-CDL Truck Driver completes assigned deliveries and pick-up of
merchandise and assists with shipping and receiving responsibilities.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Ability to comprehend oral/written/communication
• Must be organized with attention to detail
• Should possess Mechanical Skills
• Computer Literacy to include GPS
• Represents the organization with professionalism and diplomacy, and maintains the highest level of customer confidentiality
• Must have a Clean Driving Record and remain in compliance with DOT requirements
• Must always demonstrate the highest level of Customer Service/Relations
• Valid driver's license -- in good standing with the State and Federal Regulatory Agencies.
• Valid OSHA Forklift Certification

Responsibilities

• Drives a van and/or box truck to transport and deliver materials
• Maneuvers truck into loading and unloading positions.
• Operates company vehicle in a professional, safe and courteous manner.
• Routinely inspects and maintains vehicle daily, complete driver's logs and reports in compliance with FMCSR daily.
• Picks up and accurately delivers merchandise and corresponding paperwork in a timely manner.
• Keeps a clean and well maintained delivery vehicle, internal and external.
• Ensures customer messages/communications are relayed to appropriate management.
• Secures loaded cargo into truck; safely load & unload materials using a winch, hoist and/or forklift.
• Delivers paperwork and communications between Gregor Technologies, customers and vendors.
• Assists with stocking the shipping and receiving department to include lifting and carrying cartons and placing them on appropriate shelves.
• Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner to include returning tools to designated areas.
• Notifies management of product discrepancies or malfunctions, and or personal injuries.
• Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required to perform the duties of a truck driver.
• Adheres to Reliance Code of Conduct as well as customer confidentiality requirements.
• Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
