About The Position
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Loads and unloads laundry carts from the tractor trailer equipment both on and off-site in accordance with the policies and rules for each account Marks in clear English any soiled linen or laundry that is received by any customers. Ensure that the laundry is properly stored and secured by account to eliminate and damage to any materials transported. Maintain record of delivery times, mileage, and quantities and gets accounts sign off on all shipments Communicates with Laundry manager to delivery routes and times and follows them without fail Makes routine maintenance checks on trucks and related equipment to ensure that they are in full working order Maintain cleanliness of equipment and surrounding areas Bi-lingual language skills Supportive Functions: When instructed, stage soiled laundry for weighmasters according to account From time to time assist Laundry Manager when instructed
Requirements
- Bi-lingual language skills for completion of receiving and shipping documents
- Basic mathematical skills (addition and subtraction) necessary to record counts
- Ability to safely operate freight elevator and truck lifts
- Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understand verbal instructions and communicate with clients
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, carry, push, or pull heavy loads and stand for long periods of time. May require lifting bundles weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to push and/or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 800 lbs.
- Ability to load and unload a tractor -trailer and secure its contents
- Non CDL position
Nice To Haves
- A valid Class C Commercial driver's license (not necessary, but it would be helpful) and a clean driving record
- Previous experience in driving Laundry/Valet a plus
- Understanding of English and Spanish language, both written and verbal.
